Desktop app not recognising my membership and reports me as a free member hence not allowing me to use any of the premium features

Hi @Haythum
Please make sure you are logged in to the desktop app using the same account as you are using here on the Forum.
Then try to hit the ‘Update’ button on the account page.
If that doesn't solve the problem please let us know and we will take a closer look to make sure your Patreon membership is recognized correctly.
