Question…I have a 3.5 inch TFT monitor for the PI. direct connect thru GPIO. Made by Inland or Microcenter's brand. Can I get that to work? It lights up LED on Pi running but no image.

Yes you can, but you will have to install the corresponding display driver for it.
Have a look at the page here on how to manually install a driver.

Commented before I even hooked it up. Installed LCDShow onto PI worked. Switched out SD card to ModBro… native LCD 3.5 worked after boot no other installs needed. Now I have to put together something to use as a case. Wire individual pins with Pi wires I have. so about a 7 inch extension. If I leave it that way gotta custom make something.
